We are excited to announce that we are embarking on a rebranding initiative to better reflect our new school’s identity and aspirations for the future. We are requesting your help to create a stunning new logo design for the Baie-des-Chaleurs Regional School.

This participatory process is open to students, staff members, and all community members. Our goal is to have the new logo selected and ready for digitization by the end of November 2025 followed by the implementation of the logo by the end of December 2025.

You are invited to submit one or more proposals based on the following criteria:

• The logo must represent the school’s name and it’s meaning;
• The logo must be simple, distinctive, timeless & designed with scalability in mind;
• The logo must include the name of the school and reflect our core values;
• The logo must promote a sense of belonging.

Terms and conditions of participation

To participate, submit your logo design by email to laura.harrison@essb.qc.ca or via ESSB’s Facebook page by September 26, 2025, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

Proposals will be submitted to a selection committee made up of management, school staff members, and parents from the Governing Board. Management will then propose the selected logos to the School Board Council of Commissioners for reviewal at its November 04, 2025, meeting.

The committee reserves the right to put proposals to a vote if several suggestions meet the criteria, or to reject all proposals and launch a second contest. The voting procedures will be determined by the committee.

The committee reserves the right to draw inspiration from the proposals received in order to suggest a new logo that could be the subject of its recommendations. In this case, the name of the person or persons who inspired the committee will be disclosed.

Transfer of copyright and intellectual property rights.

The logo must be created by the contestant himself or herself. It must not infringe on intellectual property rights whatsoever (such as another copyright or trademark). By participating in the contest, the contestant, the holder of parental authority, and the minor, if applicable, assign all rights arising from their participation in the creation of the work (the School’s logo) and agree to transfer intellectual ownership (including copyright) of the logo to the School Board.

Consent to personal information

The winner, the holder of parental authority, and the minor, if applicable, consent to the Eastern Shores School Board using, reproducing, publishing, transmitting, or broadcasting (traditional and social media) their name, photograph, location, and grade level if the winner is a student, without compensation.

In the event of refusal, the School Board will indicate that the winner’s name remains anonymous.

The school’s administrator will notify the finalist(s), if any, by telephone only.

Official unveiling of the logo

The school’s official logo will be unveiled before the end of 2025, after being approved by the School Board.
