Fermont School

Fermont School may be the smallest Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6 school within the Eastern Shores School Board territory, however, we are very proud of our school which has an abundance of school spirit. We are located in a north-eastern Quebec mining town along the Newfoundland and Labrador border. Our school is unique because we are located in a one kilometre complex that also houses the larger French school, the health centre, the police station, town hall, swimming pool, apartments, stores and skating rink. Our classrooms are located in the French school and this allows us to share services and occasionally participate in activities together. The town of Fermont, with approximately 2500 residents, is very supportive and our students have access to many services. The staff also offer extracurricular activities that are both academic and recreational. Our small student numbers allow us to meet the needs of the individual students and we have a family-like atmosphere in our school. When our students finish Grade 6, they travel 30 minutes to attend high school in Wabush and Labrador City, in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Fermont School is a little school with a warm heart
