Fermont School may be one of the smallest Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6 schools in the Eastern Shores School Board, but it is rich in school spirit and community pride. Located in the northern Quebec mining town of Fermont near the Newfoundland and Labrador border, our school is part of a unique one-kilometre complex that includes the French school, health centre, town hall, swimming pool, skating rink, stores, and residences. Sharing facilities with the French school provides opportunities for collaboration, shared services, and activities with our French-speaking neighbours.
Our small enrollment creates a warm, family-like atmosphere where staff know each student well and can respond to their individual needs. Students also benefit from a variety of academic and recreational extracurricular activities and the strong support of the Fermont community. After Grade 6, students continue their high school education in nearby Wabush or Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador. Fermont School is a little school with a very big heart.
