Metis Beach School

Built in 1929, Metis Beach School is a small, welcoming coastal school located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River in Métis-sur-Mer. As the only English public school in the Lower St. Lawrence region, we welcome students from communities across the region, including Rimouski, Mont-Joli, Sayabec, and Matane.

Our diverse and engaging curriculum makes the most of our beautiful surroundings while providing strong opportunities in academics, the arts, technology, culture, and physical education. With many students speaking French at home, we offer both enriched and first-language French programs, supporting our students’ bilingualism and cultural connections.

We are proud of our strong academic outcomes, high graduation rates, and commitment to student success. Following significant growth in enrollment, our school was expanded in 2019. Today, Metis Beach continues to offer a warm, family-oriented environment where students feel known, supported, and inspired to succeed.
