Escuminac Intermediate School

Escuminac School has been proudly serving students and families along the Gaspé coast since 1947. Located in the municipality of Escuminac, within the MRC d’Avignon, our school serves students from surrounding communities, including Saint-Alexis-de-Matapédia, Matapédia, Restigouche Sud-Est, Pointe-à-la-Croix, Listuguj, Escuminac, and Nouvelle.

Our school offers a welcoming and supportive learning environment where students benefit from strong relationships with their teachers and a close connection to the communities we serve. Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF) and outdoor learning are central to the Escuminac experience, providing students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and develop a meaningful connection with their local environment.

Students regularly engage in hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, responsibility, and environmental awareness. Through opportunities to care for animals and explore the natural environment, students develop a deeper understanding of sustainability, stewardship, and their role in the world around them.

By combining the Quebec Education Program with outdoor, experiential, and sustainability-focused learning, Escuminac School provides students with a broad and balanced education. Our unique setting and commitment to learning through real-world experiences help students develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and environmental awareness they need to thrive and contribute to their communities.
