Feb. 15, 2007 From the desk of the ESSB Webmaster; The recent newsletter was well received so I’ll continue to publish bi-monthly as long as fellow employees of ESSB consider it useful. News: Shigawake-Port Daniel recently launched a fabulous new web site and I would like to congratulate them on jobs well done. This site is very appealing and offers lots of content to viewers. It can be found at: http://www.easternshores.qc.ca/spds Several schools have begun placing their monthly calendar online for the convenience of parents and students. Principals who would like to consider this option, and would like assistance, please contact me and I’ll gladly help you out. View some examples at the link below. http://www.essb.qc.ca/calendar.php?page=news This Newsletter will catch many of our schools on a “snow-day” as a result of the storm ravaging the area as I write. Gaspe has in excess of a foot of the white stuff on the ground and it continues to fall heavily. Highways along the north shore of the Gaspe are all closed. Upcoming Events: On Feb. 23 Mini-Basketball Tournaments will be held for elementary students of Eastern Shores. Gaspe Elementary will host schools for the Gaspe Coast and Baie Comeau High School will host schools on the North Shore. On March 1 New Carlisle will be host to the Junior Basketball Competition. The ESSB Cultural Showcase to be held in New Richmond is fast approaching, and the deadline for submitting entries is Feb. 26. Information is available at: http://www.essb.qc.ca/calendar/cultural.htm ESSB Web Site Highlights: As long as you’re near a computer, you have all the ESSB contact information within a few clicks. And if you prefer paper, the latest Contact List is always online, ready to print. School Calendars are always just a click away, not only yours, but every school and center within our board. The old man said, "Sir, I'm sorry to bother you but could you address this post card for me? My arthritis is acting up today and I can't even hold a pen." "Certainly sir,' said the younger man, "I'd be glad to." He wrote out the address and also agreed to write a short message and sign the card for the man. Finally, the younger man asked, "Now, is there anything else I can do for you?" The old fellow thought about it for a moment and said, "Yes, at the end could you just add, 'PS: Please excuse the sloppy hand-writing.'?" --------------------- Feel free to post this on bulletin boards or otherwise make it available to anyone who may be interested. The success of this newsletter will depend upon the interest it gets and the contributions you make. All schools and centers are invited to contribute.
